Thin Wall Machining

Thin Wall Machining requires special techniques to control deformation. We use flexible fixtures or vacuum chucks to spread clamping force evenly. This reduces clamping deformation. We use layered cutting and trochoidal milling strategies to lower radial cutting forces. We carefully adjust speed, feed rate, and depth of cut to control cutting temperature.

Product Introduction

Thin Wall Machining

Stable Processing for Deformation-Prone Parts

Thin Wall Machining refers to the processing of metal parts with a wall thickness-to-size ratio below 1:20. These parts have low rigidity and deform easily during cutting. This makes product one of the most challenging manufacturing processes. Our factory has 20 CNC machining centers, 19 of which are 4-axis models, along with 12 CNC lathes. We machine product parts with wall thickness of 0.5 mm and above. We maintain dimensional accuracy and geometric tolerances throughout production. We work with aluminum alloys, stainless steel, titanium alloys, and other materials. We serve automotive components, semiconductor equipment, medical devices, and communication equipment.

Techniques That Prevent Deformation

Thin Wall Machining requires special techniques to control deformation. We use flexible fixtures or vacuum chucks to spread clamping force evenly. This reduces clamping deformation. We use layered cutting and trochoidal milling strategies to lower radial cutting forces. We carefully adjust speed, feed rate, and depth of cut to control cutting temperature. After roughing, we use natural or artificial aging to stabilize dimensions. These methods allow us to produce product parts with consistent quality. Typical parts include electronic housings, aircraft structural frames, medical tubing connectors, and waveguide components.

Quality Control for Thin Wall Applications

Our quality control covers incoming material, in-process, and final inspection stages. We use automatic CMMs, video projectors, and digital height gauges. Each Thin Wall Machining part is fully checked to ensure it meets drawing requirements. We are ISO9001:2015 certified. Our standard process is: advance payment → raw material procurement → production → quality inspection → customer inspection → balance payment → shipment. Lead time is 15 to 20 days after we receive the advance payment. We specialize in non-standard custom parts. For product orders, please include wall thickness tolerances and geometric tolerance requirements on your drawings.
